How To Be A Certified Scuba Diver
When Jacque Cousteau and Emilie Gagnon invented the demand regulator, they opened up a brand new world to the masses. Although most of us will be unable to visit outer-space, we can with proper training visit the weightless world of inner-space beneath the surface of or lakes, rivers and oceans.
Scuba shops offering instruction can be found in all the coastal areas and most the large cities inland. Classes can be structured over a period of several weeks or over three consecutive days and are made up of classroom sessions. Pool work and openwater dives.
In the classroom the student will learn the theory of diving, physics and physiology pertaining to divers, equipment function and use and safety procedures. In the pool, the student will learn basic skills such as mask clearing, regulator recovery, buoyancy control and ascents and descents. In openwater the new diver will perfect everything that they learned in the pool and be introduced to the marine environment.
Scuba diving is an international business with tropical resorts catering exclusively to divers, charter boats travel to the best dive sites, and long range liveaboards set out on extended expeditions.
