The Suunto D9 watch is the first dive computer to include both a digital compass and the ability to wirelessly monitor your tank.
The D9 is the only dive computer in the world that includes a digital compass - this unique feature works both on the surface and underwater, displaying a graphic compass rose, as well as bearings in degrees. You can lock in your desired bearing, and the compass will guide you in the correct direction.
The Suunto D9 can operate in any of three modes - Air, Nitrox, or Gauge. Air mode is used for dives using standard air.
In Memory mode, your dive is graphically displayed, incorporating your real time depth, dive time, tank pressure, and temperature. Back on land, you can review and analyze the details of your dive and upload dive data to your PC.
During the dives at Maui, Echo's D9 trasmitter experienced a malfunction. A new transmitter is being acquired at the moment.
