Apeks TX100

Apeks has several regulators in its line up. The TX100 being one of their top of the line models.

This unit offers easy breathing in all positions and offers below-average bubble interference. Its motuhpiece is failry comfortable according to users.

This unit has a balanced diaphragm in its first stage. Below is a more in depth review by Ice.

"Breathes well in all conditions. Bought it second hand from a respected diver at an incredible price. Air delivery is almost as ‘velvety smooth’ as Echo’s Atomics, definitely much more refined than the average rental. Big plus in Ice’s opinion is the fact that it’s environmentally sealed, this keeps silt and sand from entering the mechanism.

Open piston designs may give better performance at a cost of higher maintenance and contamination issues. This unit was the top of Apeks regulator line until 2002. This model is discontinued as of 2003, so if you find “new-old stock” or a well cared for second hand unit, they can be had for a substantial savings over the old retail price. Apeks now has the ATX 200 as their 2003 top-of-the-line, the main difference being a 20% smaller second
stage. If you are looking for a really nice sealed reg and can find one, they are highly recommended by Ice for the budget conscious but uncompromising diver."
